A self-described armchair anarchist, Earnshaw was born in the same year that Lenin died and Breton launched his first manifesto. He is a Yorkshireman by birth, if not by profession, who possesses a well-travelled mind. An interest in poetry led him to discover the convulsive beauties of surrealism, and his work, be it written, drawn or assembled, bears testament to this abiding concern.
