Bernard Buffet is the master of oil painting and printmaker in France. He established his fame in his early years. In 1948 he held his first solo art exhibition and won “Prix de la Critique”. In the 1950s, he was regarded as a leading symbolism painter in Paris. Buffet’s creations were influenced by immiserization movement. His works covers a lot of themes, especially in his latter works, including still life, indoor landscape and city sceneries in New York, Paris and London. His works is exhibited in a lot of museums, including Contemporary Museum and Tate Gallery in London.
