Betty Saarni studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts, holds a B.F.A. and teaching credential from the University of California, Berkeley, and studied with artists George Post, Ralph Baker, Robert Wood, Tom Hill, and Frank Webb. Ms. Saarni is a member of the Society of Western Artists, Watercolor West, and the National League of American Pen Women. She is a signature member of the California Watercolor Society. Her work is shown in Valley Art Gallery, Walnut Creek, CA; Marin Society of Artists, Ross, CA; and Monticello gallery, Dallas, TX.
