Markings:
The canvas is unlined, the paint surface is slightly dirty and the varnish is yellowed. There are a few discoloured retouchings visible to the naked eye: in the top of her hair, in the sky to the left of her head, beside her left eye, in the centre of her chest, beside her left shoulder and in her left elbow, and in and around the end of her right sleeve. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms these and further reveals some small retouchings around the margins, and another larger area below her hands. Despite all these, the painting presents well in its current state.
Condition:
unframed: 79.1 x 54.6 cm.; 31? x 21 in.
