Condition:
It has not been possible to see the work entirely unframed. The panel is sound. Examination under UV light reveals some tiny dots of retouching in places, notably to the centre of the left edge, towards the seated woman on the left and in the upper right corner. There are a few dots of fluorescence under UV light at the centre of the upper edge and in the lower left corner which does not appear to be related to retouching. There are a few hairline lines of craquelure in places, most predominately to the brown impasto. There are a few scratches (the longest of which is approx. 2 cm long) in the upper right corner. There is a drip of varnish running vertically across the lower right quadrant. There are a few minor paint losses in the upper left corner. This work is in overall good condition.
