Condition:
Saleroom notice: Please note the updated medium.
(i) The canvas and board are in good condition. The turn over edges of the canvas are visible at the edges of the work, inherent to the artist’s studio. There is minor rubbing to the corners and edges in places, and a pinpoint paint loss to the upper left quadrant, only visible on very close inspection. There is a minor area of surface inconsistency to the lower centre (approx. 0.5 cm in length), visible on close inspection and which fluoresces under Ultra Violet light, deemed inherent to inpainting. The previous paper collage red dress has been replaced by the artist with a painted red dress.
(ii) The metal sheet is in good condition and mounted onto the artist’s wooden stretcher. There are artist’s nails to the edges of the work with associated points of paint loss. There is minor bumping and points of paint loss to the edges of the stretcher and metal sheet, a paint loss and bend to the lower right corner, scattered minor surface rubs and hairline scratches, occasional minor scattered surface marks and pinpoint accretions, all visible on close inspection.
Otherwise, there are no apparent condition issues with this work.
