Condition:
This work is in good condition overall. There is evidence of wear and handling along the edges and corners of each canvas, with associated hairline craquelure at the pull margins, scattered abrasions and minor losses. There are small holes to the extreme corners, which reveal the stretcher (most notably, the lower corners of the left canvas and all corners but the upper right in the right canvas). The canvases are both slightly slack on their stretchers. Under close inspection, localized areas of hairline craquelure are visible and there are few unobtrusive losses scattered throughout, including a minute area in the figure's boutineer. In the left canvas, there is a pinhole to the center left edge, likely inherent to the time of execution. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, there is no evidence of restoration. Unframed.
